Eric Liddell and William Tyndale

Yesterday wasn't very different from the day before though..haa still slacking. But i did some work. I watched Eric Liddell movie and William Tyndale movie. Decided on Eric Liddell movie to been shown for Cf camp for the older kids. William Tyndale one may be quite chim for them. Prepared questions and a short little game for the kids. Hoping they'll learn something from eric liddell. I watched eric liddell movie many times already and 2nd time for william tyndale so i'm quite familiar with the stories. Give you a brief intro about eric liddell and william tyndale. Eric Liddell was a runner, fast and he made it into the olympics. But the 100m heats was on sunday, to honor God and to keep the Sabbath day holy. He didn't want to run. Thinking that he missed this chance to honor God, God honored him by helping him win gold medal for the 400m race(which wasn't his forte). He soon left it all behind and left to China to be a missionary. Taught Chemistry and, of course, God's Word. However, China got invaded by the Japanese. He sent his wife and kids back to Canada while he stayed to help the wounded, at the same time, shared his faith. Eric liddell was taken to an camp along with other foreigners. He died in the camp of brain tumor.
William Tyndale was a famous scholar majoring in 8 different languages. He was also a person who risked his life to do God's work. He translated the Bible from latin, greek into English and at that time, translating the Bible to English was a crime. Those guilty were charged with heresy and were burned alive as the punishment. William tyndale tried to convice the bishop of London but to no avail. He had no choice but to do it illegally. And he very well knew that he'll have to say goodbye to England for it. He insisted and translated alot of the books in the Bible in Germany and in Belgium. However, he was caught and brought back to England where he was accused of heresy. He was then hanged and burned. (Only scholars and great people were allowed to be hanged before burning). 2 years later, the king finally allowed English Bibles to be spread around. William Tyndale didn't die in vain, God answered his prayer. So the English Bibles that you have right now, half of the books were first translated by william tyndale.
Yup...well gonna have cf camp tmr..pray and hope everything goes smoothly.

Another thing to add for keith is that he doesn't know if he wants to commit in sunday school camp. Esp when he has an exam in between sunday school camp and yf camp. He has already commited to Yf camp as the camp master. Pray for Cf/Jf Camp tmr to saturday and the campers and those helping out. Pray for esther and abi that they'll get into SIM-RMIT, its some business course. The posting results will be out in november. Pray that they'll get into the school or they won't have school to go to.
